For the Future of America: An Open Letter to President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.

Dear President Biden:

Your legacy is intact and unassailable. You will go down in history as one of the most effective, most consequential American Presidents in history. 

Your final decision to not run for reelection was a monumental act of courage, sound reasoning and most importantly an expression of the depth and sincerity of your love of America and the Democratic Party. We now desperately need you to finish the job for the party and America.

As President you put the United States on the road to recovery. You have strengthened and renewed vital alliances around the world and returned us to the position of preeminent leadership of the free world.

Through it all the Vice President that you selected and who was overwhelmingly endorsed by the voters has been at your side where she could observe you in action and you could observe her. You selected her as the person who you believed would be best suited to become President of the United States should you not be able or willing to continue in office for your full term.

Implicit in that decision had to be the belief that Kamala Harris shared your vision for the direction of the party and the future of America and that she would carry that vision to fruition if called upon to serve as President of the United States in your stead.  

Now that you have made the decision to not run for reelection your prompt enthusiastic endorsement of Vice President Harris speaks volumes. But you have a once in a lifetime opportunity to make history by enabling your hand-picked Vice President to become the first female President of the United States. 

You have 180 days left until the end of your term.  I implore you to seriously consider resigning your office so that by operation of the 25th Amendment you will make Kamala Harris the first female president of the United States by the stroke of your pen.  Your legacy will be enhanced because through your selfless sacrifice you brought America into the twenty first century. Time is

of the essence.  Please do not delay. History will reward you as will a grateful nation composed of more than 50% females.
